Rainy days

April 25th, 2006 by Christie

Since we’ve already established the fact that I’m a bit odd, I feel comfortable sharing with you that I do love rainy days! The best part about them is knowing ahead of time that rain is coming. That always inspires me to go plant things, knowing that I can let the rain do the watering.

Yesterday the forecast indicated rain coming today, so I scrambled around and found flower seeds, helped kids get seeds planted in their flower pots, and planted the last of the wave petunias that I had purchased. This morning I peeked out the window and observed with great satisfaction the cloudy skies and wet pavement. Perfect!

So now when I hear the wind blowing and the rain hitting the window, I know it’s a good day! When the sun comes out later today, I’m sure the children will be delighted to be able to run outside and play. But I’ll wistfully wish the rain farewell and look forward to the next time it comes to visit.
