An Ordinary Day
Wednesday wasn’t really a very exciting day in any particular way. It was rather ordinary actually. The weather was beautiful. The children had fun playing outside. And thanks to finding the missing piece to our trampoline, we were able to set it up and the kids have been loving it! Even the baby takes his turn. (What we’d like to know is how on earth someone can misplace a piece to a trampoline??? Somehow we did it.)

While I was wandering around outside, I realized that Isaac was climbing a tree. But he wasn’t just climbing like a nice tame child would climb. No, he had the climbing rope out and was heading for the top of the tree! I suppose I should have been a good, cautious mother and insisted that he come down right away to the safety of the ground. But as I watched him, I thought that it was probably a good thing for him to do to climb that tree. He was getting good exercise, he was out of any other mischief, he was challenged, and he was having to use his brain to figure out the next move. So instead of making him come down, I stood under the tree and gave him his list of duties for the day, and then told him to climb for a bit before he got started on his chores.

After talking to Isaac and taking his photo, I wandered through the front yard and decided to take a few photos of the current flowers. I’ve been having a lot of fun photographing my flowers this spring, thanks to the new camera Michael bought for me last Fall. I don’t even know the names of all these flowers. But I sure do like them.

(If you know what these are, leave me a comment or drop me a line and let me know. You can leave comments right here at the end of this message, or you can e-mail me at christie@iamtheteacher.com. I’d love to hear from you!)
It was an ordinary day in our ordinary life. But somehow, I wonder if we’re really very ordinary. ![]()
