Since I suggested yesterday that we look around and be grateful, I decided to try to list one thing each day for which I am grateful.

I have a shop vac in my kitchen! It’s such a wonderful tool to use to clean up all kinds of messes! If YOU don’t have a shop vac in YOUR kitchen, I feel sorry for you. However on earth do you cope??? It’s perfect for cleaning up spilled sugar, crumbs from the bottom of the bag of chips, sawdust from last-night’s building project, bits of plaster that fall from the ceiling, and even the pile of crud that I sweep up but don’t want to bother putting into a dustpan. I must warn you though, a shop vac has a lot of power! More than once I’ve heard a rattling swooshing sound and have had to turn off the vac to rescue things that shouldn’t have been so foolish to be sitting in the way. The noise of the vac scares the baby, and the dog knows to get out of the way. Maybe they are each afraid that they’ll be the next victim!

Once my kitchen is all remodeled and perfect, I must confess, I think I’ll miss the shop vac. There’s just nothing else like it.
