Shopping

November 20th, 2006 by Christie

So, what are you going to do during this frantic shopping season which is quickly approaching? In past years I’ve done the “get up before dawn to get to the doorbuster deals” thing, but this year I don’t think I want to do that. I’m thinking about going to some of the more interesting, smaller shops around town that might have a less pushy crowd. But I just finished looking at the Meijer Thanksgiving ads, and I’m already drooling at the good deals. Hopefully I’ll manage to talk myself out of joining the throng of spenders there.

What about you? Do you shop during the Thanksgiving holiday? Or do you avoid it like the plague? If you’re going to shop this year, what are you looking for?

    Dearest Christie,

I have decided not to shop the craziness especially this weekend. Althought I do remember some fun memories of being in Illinois and getting up early to be there for the early morning bargains.

I am also looking for alternatives to Wal-Mart based on their decision to become supportive of the gay and lesbian community.

On a lighter note I am enjoying my extended time with Roy and Mary, Naomi, Hannah and Lydia. It has been good for my mother to have some activity in the house from the little ones.

    Love to all,
    Mom/Grammy

    Hi Mom!

We are also giving serious thought to alternatives to Walmart. In the process of thinking about other stores, I’m learning how dependent I’ve been on Walmart! It’s hard to think of liking other stores as much as the Walmart down the road.

    Love,
    Christie
