Day Eleven

January 27th, 2007 by Christie

Today was such a sleepy day for me. I got up and ate the delicious pancakes that Natalie made for breakfast. Then, when Michael came down to breakfast, I took Judah back up to our room. He was acting fussy and I wondered if he was tired. I laid down with him and felt so sleepy. By the time Michael came to check on me, I was dozing and Judah was ready to be rescued. So Michael took Judah and I fell fast asleep. I didn’t wake up until lunch time! I got up again, ate some more, and then socialized a bit until it was time for Judah’s nap. Yep, you guessed it, I went back and laid down next to Judah and slept for two more hours. What a treat! It felt so good to catch up on my sleep.

Today it was fun, during those short times that I was actually awake, to see the children all playing so nicely together. Each of the kids has found a Bennett cousin or two that they enjoy playing with. And thanks to the Christmas book from the Bennetts, we’ll be able to remember names and faces. It’s important to me for my children to know their extended family, and it’s a delight to me to see relationships being formed at this age. I also was pleased to see Michael visiting with his brother-in-law Steve, and also enjoying the company of his older nieces. Right now he’s helping them with some of the iPod questions they have.

Tomorrow we’ll get back on the road. We would like to get to Paducah, KY, if possible, and then spend one more night in a motel before we head home Monday. As much as we’ve enjoyed this vacation, it sure will be nice to be home.
