Statistically Speaking…
Days like today only come around once every other year or so. It’s the day when we get all the kids loaded up and we head to the doctor’s office to see an ultrasound of our baby and find out if we’re getting another girl or another boy.
I’m so grateful that my doctor is one of nine kids, because our batch of rowdy kiddos just doesn’t phase him in the least. In fact, as they pepper him with questions, he listens carefully and then answers each question, no matter how insignificant it seems to be. Before Dr. Harold started the sonogram, he took a survey, by show of hands, to see who was voting for a girl and who was voting for a boy. Isaac was sadly outnumbered as the only one voting for another boy.
Each time we make this trek to the sonogram room with our whole family, we add another little person to the parade. Before long we’ll have to set up bleachers and sell popcorn just to manage the crowd!
It was finally time to get to see our baby. Some of the kids were eagerly looking at the images on the screen, while a few other kids were hovering over a Highlights magazine they found in the waiting area. Michael finally threatened, “If you’re going to read Highlights, go back to the waiting room!”
After a thorough examination, with our little baby waving and wiggling the whole time, the doctor finally declared that he was 95% sure that we were going to have another girl. Yipee! Now the children were eager to know what the name would be. I told them I still need to think about it. I have a few names rattling around in my head, but I haven’t settled on one yet.
I’m really excited to think of having another little girl. I wonder if she’ll have dark hair and brown eyes like our other girls. No matter what she looks like, it will be a treat to get to have another baby in the house!

Great News. I told Gracie and Hannah that you are having a baby girl and Gracie replied…”are they going to name her Gracie.” Out of the mouth of a babe. I am sure that whatever her name is she will be adorable.
Love,

Congratulations! Another granddaughter for me to love.
I remember “seeing” Laura for the first time.
It will be wonderful to see what God has planned for this addition to your family.
Love, hugs and kisses to everyone!
