Sickness has hit
All last week the kids took turns being sick. I was rather pleased with my immune system, noticing that I was getting by with only a minor case of the sniffles and a light cough. But last night I took a turn for the worse when an upset stomach decided to make an appearance. All through the night I was uncomfortable, but glad that sleeping in the recliner seemed to help with the discomfort. This morning I hoped I would be better, but instead I spent much of the day napping and trying to beat whatever it is that has ahold of me. Michael was a trooper, caring for the children and doing everything for the household while I was out of commission.
But by this evening, Michael is starting to feel sick to his stomach, so I guess he’s next in line. I’m hoping that I’m feeling better enough to keep things running smoothly here at home while Michael is sick.
I’m also trying not to think about the time we’ll lose working on our house. Tomorrow is Michael’s day off work, so I was anticipating making some wonderful progress. However, life is unpredictable, so we’ll just take each day as it’s served to us.
Update: Monday morning
What a surprise and relief when Michael woke up perky and feeling good this morning! I’m still dragging around like one of the half-dead, but Michael got the kids up and moving, fed them breakfast, and got them busy on cleaning up the house. By the time I stumbled into the kitchen to warm up some of yesterday’s coffee, things were humming right along with cheerful music playing and dishsoap bubbles floating around.
It is about noon now, so we are going to head over to the Monroe house to see what we can do there. I know it won’t be a hugely-long work day, but I’m glad we’ll be able to get something done.

Garrrr that stinks. I would offer to come over and help but my schedule is booked tight!
