No News
Since I told you to stay tuned for news, I feel like I should have some news to share, but so far I don’t have any news. When is the last time you tuned in to the radio or t.v. and heard the folks say, “Well, we don’t really have any news for you today, so we’re just going to chat.”? (Maybe that’s how morning talk shows were started.)
Anyway, I called the doctor’s office yesterday to see if they had Lilly’s test results yet, but the office was closed, so no news there.
Isaac’s thumb continues to heal and look better all the time. He’s taking good care of it, keeping it clean and keeping his bandages clean. I’m proud of him for being so conscientious.
Regarding the Monroe house, we are still waiting for the folks who were supposed to show up a few days ago for a tour. I’m guessing the snow storm interrupted their plans. But they are supposed to be going through the house with their realtor this afternoon, maybe even right this minute, so we are eager to hear what they think. After finding out a little more about what they’re looking for, we realize that our house is probably not what they have in mind, however it will be good to get their feedback so we know what an unbiased person notices and likes or doesn’t like.
As you think of our family, would you please pray that we will be able to understand without a doubt what God wants us to do regarding housing? We don’t know if we should start planning to move back to our house on Monroe, or if we should keep pursuing the idea of selling the house. We keep getting our hopes up that perhaps someone is interested in buying it, but then those hopes fizzle when people aren’t interested after all. We want to do the right thing, but just don’t know what that “right thing” is. We keep taking one step at a time, and maybe that’s all we need to think about.
We did get the snow that was forecast, and it’s been fun. The whole town seemed to take a snow day. After the schools and some employers closed for the day, folks (who couldn’t possibly make it to school or work) hurried out to slip and slide on the snowy roads. Michael worked hard shoveling snow at both the Bobwhite house and the Monroe house. The rest of us just peered out the window at him and cheered him on. (Actually, Luke did go out with Michael and tried to be a help. Gotta’ give the boy some credit!)
So there you have it, my non-newsy report. Do you have any non-news in your life?

Hey, Christie! I’ve been wondering about Lilly since I read your blog the other day. I’ll be praying for you guys. I also wanted to let you know that I’ve “tagged” you. If you go to my blog, you’ll see what you’re supposed to do.

When Micca was a few years old they heard a heart murmur on her also. (she was a lot older than Lilly). We went through the tests, etc and she does have a murmur but it usually can only be heard when she is sick. It does not hamper her at all. If they have to find anything wrong with Lilly, I hope it is the same. Our “non-news” is that Rick’s latest EKG turned out good. His new medicine is very different, they have to keep a close eye on the heart. He goes to the specialist on Valentines day (how appropriate) and hopefully we can schedule surgery to slap his heart back into the correct rythym. My mother is trying to heal from her surgery last week but isn’t fairing as well. She has so much pain. I made vegetable soup and bread today, we will get it to them tomorrow. And on a humorous note – my orthopedic surgeon told me last week that I am now missing cartiledge between two joints in my wrist. They are trying a drug regiment to help it, but not sure what they can do after that. Hey – 50 is GREAT! And speaking of 50 – if you don’t mind – I will bring some potato chips and chex mix to Michael on Monday – left from the party. My body can’t burn them off as quickly as your young family can! Take care – love you.
