Words of encouragement for homeschool moms

There’s no place like…

February 8th, 2008 by Christie

After spending a day and a half at home sick, Michael decided yesterday that he would rather go back to work where he could have a bit more peace and quiet while he’s recovering.  So he packed up his tissues and lozenges and headed to work.  I’m quite sure that he gets more rest and quiet time sitting in his cubicle at work than he ever does at home with children bouncing around, crawling into bed with him, and in general being pesky.  I’m glad he has a safe place to go.

I think Iris and I observed him napping at his desk more than once yesterday. that is what the dr orders - rest and drink plenty of fluids (not sure if Dr Pepper qualifies)

I am sorry to do this here, but I am not bright enough to have brought your email addresses home with me and this is the only way I can think to get this to you. Would you please say a prayer for my mother? As I was leaving work yesterday I received a call that the ambulance had just taken her to BroMenn. Dave was good enough to drive me there so I would not have to go an hour home and then an hour back. We got home around 11 last night. They admitted her and have no idea what they will do with her. Right now she is on a pain pump which delivers every 10 minutes. They finally caught up with the pain and she is staying on top of it. They just don’t know what is causing it. It was the hardest time I have ever had, trying to help her in bed to get comfortable. I have only seen my mother cry a few times and last night was one of them. I feel so helpless and there is nothing I can do. Please just pray for help for her. She is a good woman.
