Words of encouragement for homeschool moms

Watery Wednesday

July 16th, 2008 by Christie

This summer we’re trying something new.  Instead of waiting for inspiration to strike us to get to the pool, we are scheduling it for every Wednesday evening.  My sister’s family joins us, since we can take a “family unit” into the pool as our guest after 4 pm.

It’s always a big undertaking to get a bunch of kids ready for the pool, but so far it’s going really well to have our Wednesdays as our pool day.  The kids are learning to swim, they don’t nag me the rest of the week to go to the pool, and it wears them out a bit.  One added bonus is that they get totally clean with chlorinated water once a week.  :-)

I hope we can keep up our tradition through the rest of the summer.

Traditions are so important. I’m glad you can do this.
Even if it turns out you go only a handful of times, the kids will remember it as something you “always” did in the summer!
