Week One of School
We survived our first week of school! Isaac never did get the idea of completing his work quickly, so yesterday afternoon I turned him over to his father. Last night and today Michael has been working with Isaac, so I think progress is finally being made. Perhaps next week Isaac will take my guidance a bit more seriously.
Thursday afternoon we had a friend of Luke’s over. The boys had a wonderful time playing both outside in the rain and inside on the game system. For supper I let them assemble their own pizzas (much to the envy of the rest of the children!) and we had brownies for dessert. No one complained about supper that night!
Today the children are finishing up bits and pieces of their school work, but they seem to be ok with that.
I hope we are able to keep up the good work next week.
This weekend is the corn festival in Normal, so we’ll probably eat a lot of corn this weekend. It’s always a treat!

Sounds like you had a good first week. I’m sure there’s always some bumps in the road as you get started.
We just got back from the corn festival. Let’s just say our stomachs are full of yummy food!
It was INCREDIBLY hot though, so take water!
