Guatemala
March 13th, 2009 by Christie
Our church is going back to Guatemala in June of this year, and we have decided to join them. We’ve also decided to take Laura and Isaac with us. They’ve been wanting to go since last time, so they’re very excited that it’s finally going to happen.
We’ve been working on getting passports for them, and just a few days ago we submitted everything to the folks at the post office.
We’re studying Spanish, making lists of things we’ll need, arranging child and pet care, and all in all getting excited about our trip. Top on Isaac’s list is making sure he’ll be allowed to buy a machete while we’re there. We’ll probably regret it, but most likely we’ll let him buy one.

Wow! That’s great that you are going again and taking 2 kids. Yes, you should definitely let Isaac buy a machete. We have 2 or 3 here no problems at all with them. The boys love to walk in the woods behind our house “wacking ” things. Boys, boys, boys. I am planning a trip to Guate as well…not sure when but within the next few months. I am going to meet Gracie’s life giver. Well I sure do miss you…my life in IL seems so long ago. Take care
